Grove Mobile Cranes in Demand for Construction and Oil Work in Oman
Arabian Crane Services L.L.C., the sole distributor for Grove cranes in the
Sultanate of Oman since 1999, has recently supplied three new Grove
rough-terrain cranes to Consolidated Contractors Company, mainly for work in
the continuously expanding local oil industry.
The new cranes were
the latest E-series RT models, equipped with Grove Megaform™ boom technology,
load-moment indicators and work area definition systems. They also have
four-mode steering for precise close-quarter positioning.
Grove RTs
are acknowledged to be ideally suited for the rigorous and demanding
conditions of the oil industry, making them the preferred choice for
contractors and oil-field operators throughout the Middle-East.
One
of the strengths of the Arabian Crane Services company is that it is on-hand
locally with the facilities and the expertise to be able to provide advice on
the best choice of crane for a project, even from the pre-planning stage. This
extends from the building of refineries and chemical plants, to roads, and
even the construction of palaces.
In addition, ACS has 10
fully-trained staff, extensive workshop facilities and a spare parts warehouse
on its 3000 sq. m (32,000 ft²) site, so it has the capability to provide both
well-qualified field-service support for customers, as well as the full
refurbishment of used cranes.

environment, the combination of sand and oil can wear the cranes very quickly,
and it is important to have knowledgeable and well-equipped crane repair
experts. We can completely dismantle a crane, and restore it to brand-new
condition.”
In the past year, ACS has supplied several new and
refurbished Grove rough-terrain and multi-axle all-terrain cranes, right up to
the biggest, an 8-axle 350 t (400 US t) machine.
