BLE to handle service duties for Potain top-slewing cranes
BLE, Manitowoc’s dealer for Grove mobile cranes and Potain self-erecting cranes in Belgium, is now providing full Manitowoc Crane Care service for Potain’s range of top-slewing tower cranes. This new arrangement is for service only, with sales continuing via the regional Manitowoc office in the Netherlands. By appointing BLE to handle service for Potain top-slewing tower cranes, Manitowoc is recognizing the dealer’s knowledge of its product lines and its reputation in Belgium.
Adri van Gronigen, commercial director of sales for Manitowoc in Benelux and Israel, said BLE was an appropriate choice to service Potain top-slewing cranes in Belgium.“BLE has a long history of selling and servicing Grove mobile cranes in Belgium,” he said. “In June 2008, the company also took on sales and service for Potain self-erecting cranes and has impressed us with its commitment and professionalism. We are delighted that BLE is now adding Manitowoc Crane Care services for top-slewing tower cranes to its offering.” BLE has a well-equipped repair center at its headquarters in Puurs, as well as a team of factory-trained technicians to cover its Manitowoc crane lines.
Paul Spaepen, general manager of BLE, said servicing top-slewing tower cranes was a natural next step for the company. “Our company culture is built around service and doing whatever it takes to make the customer happy,” he said. “We feel very comfortable with the Potain range of top-slewing cranes, and we know the systems and processes at Manitowoc Crane Care, so this is a natural step for us.”

The other Grove all-terrain crane is the GMK6220-L which has a 220 t capacity and an impressive 72 m boom. From the Grove rough-terrain crane line there is the RT530E-2, a 30 t capacity crane with a 29 m boom.
A Manitowoc crawler crane was also shown – the Model 14000, a 200 t capacity crane and 86 m boom. The crane is perfect for a range of applications and has already enjoyed solid sales around the world since its launch in 2007.
Manitowoc also featured a Potain crane, the Igo 36 self-erecting crane. The Igo 36 has a 4 t capacity and a 32 m working radius. Maximum hook height is 31 m, with the jib at 20 degrees. The crane is equipped with a standard wireless operating remote that helps operators be more efficient and accurate on a job site. The Igo 36 has a very small footprint – 4 m x 4 m – making it ideal for jobs with limited space.
